The purpose of this track

This curriculum helps students understand how Islamic knowledge is organized, how rulings are derived, and how the sciences relate to one another.

It begins with accessible methodological questions and then moves into a serious usul al-fiqh sequence through Waraqat, al-Luma', Mukhtasar Tanqih al-Fusul, Jam' al-Jawami', and Mukhtasar Ibn Hajib.

Recommended path

Start with the methodology courses before entering formal usul. Arabic grammar and rhetoric become increasingly important as the track advances.
